Learn about the Director of the Sales Programs & Institute, Charles E. Pettijohn, D.B.A. James Barry, D.B.A. Associate Professor of Marketing In his highly interactive classroom, students work on market plans for local corporations and discuss case studies taken from his successful 25-year career with corporate giants Rockwell Collins, GE, BFGoodrich Aerospace, Gould, and AT&T. "My corporate experience has provided a solid background of successes and failures that add to the credibility of marketing concepts covered in class," said Barry. "Marked with a lot of humor, I try to intertwine these experiences into lectures to bring excitement into the classroom." Vincent Daniels, D.B.A. Assistant Professor of Management When the U.S. Army called on Vince Daniels in 1963 to "be all that he could be," he responded by spending the next four decades serving bravely on the battlefield, shrewdly in the boardroom, and brilliantly in the classroom. His world-wide experiences and merits serving in the Army's 1st Cavalry Division, for which he was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Air Medal, translated into an intrepid passion for global entrepreneurial ventures and triumphs that he shares with his students today in Nova Southeastern University's International business degree programs. At Nova Southeastern University's Huizenga Business School, Vince applies his signature gung-ho and fearless approach that has led him to success throughout his career to teaching students enrolled in International business degree programs. He covers topics of strategy, international business entrepreneurship, professional sales training and negotiating. He also delivers training to corporations in sales and management areas, and has authored several articles on sales and strategy, along with the book, International Sales – How to Excel in Global Selling. Vince boasts a prolific entrepreneurial track record spanning more than 30 years, establishing lucrative international sales consulting firms and distributorships before he ventured into academia in 1999 as founding director of the International MBA program at Florida International University. Five years later, he joined NSU as Executive Director of Executive Education, and today is an Assistant Professor of Management for the Huizenga Business School. Vince graduated with honors from the University of Tampa (Florida) with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He received his MBA in international management as the Barton Kyle Yount Scholar and class valedictorian from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, which also named him "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1988. And he attended the University of Glasgow in Scotland to earn his Doctor of Science in Business Administration. Kathleen "Bay" O'Leary, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Marketing Perhaps it stems from her days as a cabaret singer in New York, but Bay O'Leary appreciates a classroom audience that is engaged and involved. "Having a class that participates in discussions is the most rewarding aspect of teaching," said O'Leary. "That means to me that they are truly involved in their own learning process. I believe that is the best way to learn." O'Leary's classroom discussions include many personal experiences from her career in business. She held marketing positions with Citibank and Chemical Bank in New York City before moving to Florida and running her own marketing firm. O'Leary earned her Ph.D. in 2003 and began her teaching career at Barry University in North Miami. She has found teaching to be extremely rewarding. "My proudest achievement is the thanks and gratitude that many students give me at the end of a course," said O'Leary. "I appreciate knowing that students apply the concepts they learn in class to their own businesses." Proud to teach at an accredited on-campus and online business school offering both Certificate and MBA programs in professional sales training – the faculty and staff of Nova Southeastern University's Huizenga Business School are available to help you achieve your goals. |
